Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu has been released from the hospital with a heart monitor in
his chest after experiencing severe dehydration over the weekend, according to
Israeli officials. Netanyahu underwent tests at the Sheba Medical Center, which
confirmed that he is now in "excellent condition" and his heart is
functioning well. The prime minister remained in the medical center overnight
for observation following his admission on Saturday.
Netanyahu shared from the
hospital that his dehydration episode was likely a result of spending time in
the sun without proper protection or hydration. He had taken a holiday with his
family near the Sea of Galilee, where temperatures reached 38 degrees Celsius
(100.4 degrees Fahrenheit). Reflecting on the experience, Netanyahu admitted,
"It's not a good idea."
The initial tests conducted at
the Sheba Medical Center showed no significant findings other than signs of
dehydration. However, as a precautionary measure, the prime minister will
continue to undergo additional routine tests as recommended by his doctors.
Israel is currently facing a
severe heat wave, with temperatures soaring into the mid-30s degrees Celsius
(mid-90s degrees Fahrenheit). In light of the situation, Netanyahu advised the
public to take precautions, emphasizing the importance of staying out of the
sun, drinking plenty of water, and ensuring personal well-being during this
period.
Netanyahu expressed his
gratitude to the medical team caring for him and assured the public that he
feels "very good" and is on the path to recovery. He concluded his
video message by urging everyone to stay safe and wishing them a good week
ahead.
Yair Lapid, the head of the
opposition and former Prime Minister of Israel, sent his well wishes to Netanyahu
through a translated Twitter post, wishing him a speedy recovery and good
health.
As Netanyahu returns to his
duties after this health scare, the focus remains on maintaining well-being
during the heat wave and ensuring the continued stability of Israel's
leadership.
